A Guide to the Cosmetic Use of Facial Injectables

Facial injectables, also known as dermal fillers are an increasingly popular procedure due to their quick and natural looking results. Injectable dermal fillers are used to plump or add volume to an area and fill a line or crease.  Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve impulses that trigger muscle contractions which leads to the softening of wrinkles and modified expressions.

Since the majority of these products are technique-sensitive treatments, it is important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon or plastic surgeon.

Injectable fillers can provide fast and positive changes to the face and neck. Depending on the type of temporary filler used and other factors, continued treatments will be needed to maintain the desired effects.
